I was recently a UX/Human Factors Researcher at a consulting firm. My role had been to support more senior researchers with every part of the research process, from preparation to reporting. During my time at my company I worked on discovery, formative, and summative studies. I worked with both qualitative and quantitative data.
Metaverse Discovery Research
One of the projects that I worked on was a discovery project on the metaverse. The project consisted of a diary study and dyad remote interviews. My responsibilities were moderating diary study responses as well as data collection for the interviews. The diary study was conducted on the Recollective platform. The interviews were conducted in virtual reality through the Spatial platform. The study’s purpose was to understand how the use of XR technologies changed before and after the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as how users hope (and fear) these technologies will develop in the future.
The project culminated in a presentation that can be viewed here: https://www.ipsos.com/en-us/knowledge/customer-experience/A-Metaverse-Users-Want
UX Score Benchmarking
At the consulting firm I worked at, there was a benchmarking project using our proprietary UX score. I conducted mixed methods research for the project in three different industries. The research consisted of unmoderated sessions where participants completed a set of tasks, and answered ease of use questions as well as the proprietary UX score. The sessions were conducted on Userlytics. Qualitative data was collected via the think-aloud protocol participants engaged in while completing tasks and answering questions. I single-handedly, analyzed both quantitative and qualitative data and created three topline reports.
